I was working with Peace Corps personnel rehabilitating springs and wells near Eldoret, Kenya, when this young boy came to obtain water. He sat patiently on the rocks while the work on the spring was being performed. This image depicts both poverty and pride. Seeing the camera pointed towards him, he posed as well as any professional model, and it resulted in a classic portrait. Edition of Fifty.
